Construction Begins on Lixing Advanced Material's Additional 110,000-Tonne Electrolyte Solvent Project

On February 6, 2023, Shandong Lixing Advanced Material Co., Ltd. held a groundbreaking ceremony for its additional 110,000-tonne lithium-ion battery electrolyte solvent project, marking another key step in construction. Around 70 participants attended, including Wang Junjie, Deputy Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director of the Tancheng County People's Congress Standing Committee; Zhou Zhen, Deputy County Head and Director of the Public Security Bureau; Wang Chuanhai, Secretary of the Chongfang Town Party Committee; Yu Shengfei, Deputy Party Secretary and Town Head; company Chairman Zhang Guangzhi; General Manager Zhang Junkai; Safety Director Qu Shengang; other Chongfang officials; and employee and contractor representatives.

The additional 110,000-tonne lithium-ion battery electrolyte solvent project is a key construction project for 2023. Compared with the earlier propylene carbonate, ethylene carbonate and ethyl methyl carbonate/diethyl carbonate co-production projects, it covers more land, involves greater investment and adds more capacity, with significant improvements in equipment and processing technology. Total investment is RMB 320 million. Construction includes production units for the 110,000-tonne project, supporting loading and unloading areas, a tank farm and pipe racks, together with upgrades to ethylene carbonate and propylene carbonate facilities. Once operational, the project is expected to add approximately RMB 800 million in annual output value, RMB 30 million in tax revenue and 50 jobs. The company's annual capacity is expected to reach 190,000 tonnes, making it one of the few domestic manufacturers able to produce all five electronic-grade lithium-ion battery electrolyte solvents simultaneously.

At the ceremony, Tancheng County and Chongfang Town officials congratulated the company and provided guidance for the next stage. General Manager Zhang Junkai thanked officials at all levels, supporters and partner organizations for their longstanding attention and assistance. He said the project would further expand capacity and support industrial transformation and upgrading. Treating it as both a construction project and a demonstration of the company's standards, Lixing will enforce quality control and work closely with the contractor to ensure compliant materials and construction practices. Every stage will be closely managed to complete the project on time, to the required quality and scope, and bring forward completion, commissioning and social benefits.

The successful groundbreaking marks a decisive step for the additional 110,000-tonne project and another advance in Lixing Advanced Material's industrial development. It opens a new stage, direction and milestone, laying a firm foundation for sustained high-quality growth. The company will continue to concentrate its strengths and resources, create favorable construction conditions, coordinate scientifically and build with care and efficiency. It will work to ensure commissioning as scheduled, support its transformation and create greater value for Tancheng County's future economic development.
