PC can be used in validated lithium-battery and capacitor electrolyte systems and evaluated for plasticising, spinning-solvent and plastics-dispersion uses. It is also used for carbon dioxide removal in specific physical-absorption processes and in dimethyl carbonate synthesis. Each use requires formulation or process validation.
